Mega Damage Structures

This is an addition to the information on page 71 and 75 of the Savage Worlds Deluxe book. All entries here have the MDC tag and require MD weapons to affect.

Energy Cells (ECells)

Energy Cells are high-capacity e-clips for use with heavy weapons. Find the capacity based on the die type of damage (d4, d6, etc) and divide by the number of damage dice to get the shot capacity of a weapon using an Energy Cell. ECells are not compatible with e-clip powered weapons without a lot of jury-rigging.

Using Vehicle Weapons as Infantry Emplacements / Crew Served Weapons

Vehicle / Heavy weapons that are normally mounted on a mobile platform may be used as a crew served weapon and/or emplacement. A weapon requires a minimum Strength of d4 + mods steps (i.e. d6 if mods is equal to 1) to carry (not use). A character carrying said weapon is considered to be encumbered with a -3 penalty as per SWD page 49, and have their Pace reduced by 2, unless they have a minimum Strength of a d12 + mods.

Setting up a weapon emplacement takes a full round (six seconds). Once the weapon is emplaced it cannot be moved from its location without breaking it down (also a full round). An emplaced weapon does not suffer from snap fire penalties.

Particle Beam Weapons

Particle beams are the king of energy based anti-armor warfare. They strip molecules off the target similar to an ion weapon, but without the spread effect and with more gusto and with a lot more energy.

Particle beams are relatively rare on Rifts Earth and is one of the technologies of the Golden Age since lost and yet to be fully recovered. Because of this, most particle beams are maintenance hogs and horribly expensive compared to a laser on an ion weapon. Any particle beam manufactured on Rifts Earth has the Technical Difficulties rule.
